Siobhan's Story

In December 2007, Siobhán wrote to the Leadership team to request that she take the first step towards joining the Congregation.

Siobhán qualified as a Science teacher in 1984 and worked in Zimbabwe for three years following graduation While in Zimbabwe, Siobhán worked on the Diocesan Commission for Justice and Peace for two years. In 1989 she took a post-graduate diploma in Food Science in Dublin and then worked as a Dairy Manager for a year, In 1990, Siobhán joined Concern and for 16 years worked throughout Asia and Africa in emergency and long-term development programmes.

Siobhán has lived and worked in Tanzania (9 months) and Bangladesh (2 years). She has also worked in Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, East Timor, India, Pakistan, Cambodia and Laos.

In 2006, Siobhán joined Christian Aid Ireland and managed the Irish Government funding contract worth €17million across seven country programmes - Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Burundi, Angola, Afghanistan, Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Colombia.

Siobhán joined the Board of Sophia Housing in 1999 and has served as the Chairperson since 2006 and joined the Wisdom House Commission in 2006. She enjoys photography and especially developing and printing black and while images.
